steel sailboat built and outfitted for around the world cruising.
Reinke S10's are designed and built in Germany for the rigors of the North Sea and "bullet proof" is a common description for them. Quercus G. was sailed to the West Indies where we purchased her and continued outfitting her for a planned trip to the Pacific after cruising the Caribbean. She has just completed a five-month outfitting in which all systems were inspected, updated, repaired or refreshed.
Quercus G. has sailed safely and effortlessly this year from Trinidad to Grenada, Los Testigoes, Margarita, La Tortuga, Los Roques, Bonaire and Curacao. There have been no problems or issues despite sailing in some very boisterous conditions. On all legs she has maintained a 5 to 6 knot average with some exciting downwind runs even higher. So far we have tested her in strong windward conditions and strong off wind conditions. She handles both with steadiness, quiet and comfort.
She is cutter rigged and sails well with or without her removable inner forestay. Below deck she is roomy, clean and functionally designed with a very large v-berth cabin (7' long and 7' wide at head) and an aft cabin with two singles. Headroom is well over 6' in all cabins except the aft cabin.
Quercus G. is a strong, safe and comfortable cruiser. She is well equipped, her systems work and she is actively cruising and being maintained.
