1979 S2 9.2 Aft Cockpit
The 30' Aft cockpit is one of the prettiest boats built by S-2. The 9.2 has short overhangs and flat sheer providing outstanding styling that is attractive in any harbor. The long fin keel and skeg rudder provide excellent stability and handling characteristics under sail or power.
The 9.2 offers outstanding comfort above and below decks. The cabin is comfortable for extended weekends offering enclosed head with hot/cold shower, full galley and a very large salon area. The T-shaped cockpit is comfortable and the sidedecks are wide and easy to maneuver. She's an outstanding performer, easily handled by anyone in any wind/sea condition.
This 30' S-2 has been very well maintained through the years. She's been kept essentially original with appropriate updates provided through the years. The temptation to add lower quality equipment has been avoided so this S-2 represents the same high quality today as when she rolled from the factory in 1979. If you're looking for a high quality, turn-key sailboat that will maintain her value for years to come, you need to see this 9.2.
Interior:
V-berth Forward utilizes head door to close off salon area providing private cabin forward. Lexan forward hatch over V provides outstanding ventilation as well as light. The large head, forward of salon on port, is equipped with 110V outlet, hot/cold pressure water in stainless sink w/hand held shower. Teak lockers are across from head on starboard.
The salon area is very roomy with long couches on both port and starboard. Starboard settee converts to single bunk while port side is convertible to a narrow double. Convertible navigation table is under the electrical panel on port side. Quarter berth, behind nav station is over 6’ when nav table is stowed. Dining Table stows on wall in quarter berth. Teak and holly sole accent the rich teak interior in salon and galley.
The engine is mounted below the companionway with the engine box serving as a secure landing on entrance into the cabin. Engine box is constructed of ¾” teak plywood offering outstanding sound deadening. Fuel tank and hot water heater are mounted aft of engine.
The cockpit is arranged in a traditional T-shape with generous lazarette on starboard and shallow (usable) lazarette compartment under helm seats. Stainless stern boarding ladder is permanently mounted on transom.
