This is a great lake and bay sailboat. It sleeps 4, has a galley & enclosed
head, and is easy to trailer. It is perfect for weekend cruising! (The boat
is located/ secured at the Atlantic Highlands Marina (NJ) if you want to
look at it or you can e-mail me w/ questions).
I have sailed her on the Cheasapeake Bay, Lake George, the Hudson River and
on Raritan Bay. It is a fast boat; it has hit 7 knots at times under the
right conditions!
The "Airwave" is in nice condition inside and out. The fiberglass hull is
nearly maintanence free and is in good shape. The sails - mailsail and 150%
genoa - are in good condition as is the CDI roller reefing system.
Other facts:
Water ballast system & centerboard allow for easy trailering, launching and retrieval.
Winterized and covered every year during the off season.
Stainless steel stanchions & stainless steel bow and stern rails (This is an optional/ non std feature).
Stern Rail is equipped with a retractable ss swim ladder
Never kept in the water full time (at a dock or at a mooring) for
more than a day or two since I have owned her.
No bottom paint...ever!
I am the 2nd owner (6 years). The first owner had her in the Finger
Lakes (NY) fresh water.
1995 Honda 4 cycle, 2 cylinder 8 Horsepower (Model BF8A) is pollution free & environmentally friendly! The engine runs quietly and reliably. It does not have an electric starter, but does start easily w/ one or two pulls. It features an alternator for charging the battery as well. The engine cowling was customized by the previous owner to allow the o/b engine to be cocked up (to reduce drag while sailing) under the stern rail.
Trailer: The "Zieman' trailer is single axle but is not galvanized. The
tires are in good shape and are mounted on galvanized rims. We have painted
it each season to try to contain the rust. There is some surface rust;
however it is largely asthetic but not structural. Included is a 2nd set of
tires and rims. A lockable storage box is mounted to the trailer.
Interior: The cabin interior features a deluxe teak wood (this is an
optional non std feature); the bunk cushions and floor carpet are in good
shape. Generally, the cabin is clean and well maintained. There is plenty of
storage space under the bunks. (The oil lamp is a family "heirloom" and is
not included in the sale.)
Package includes: 2 life jackets, 2 throw cushions, 2 cockpit cushions, 6
gallon fuel tank & fuel hose, 2 two-speed harken winches & handle,
illuminated Ritchie compass and knotmeter, bumpers, 2 burner propane stove,
trailering straps, spot light, flares, whistle, 2 anchors, porta-potie, mast
raising / lowering gear, winter cover & ropes/ rugs, US flag, original jib,
mop, mainsail reefing boom, boat pole/hook, dock lines, VHF marine band
radio, cooler, sail cover, 4 opening port holes, lewmar hatch, wood tiller &
cover, anchor locker, genoa track, portable table.
I will also include a one hour briefing and a demonstration of "how" to put
up the mast and lower it...
I am selling the boat for one reason: lack of use. I have only used her 10
times in the last three years due to job pressures & marriage(!).
I have all documentation (2" thick file) and title.
David -
I sold my 1995 23' Santana 2023C on e-bay. Pls remove it from your
site. You posted in on 6/15. The site did generate a few calls.
Thanks for your help .
