1978 Santana 525 #57

  • The Santana 525 was designed by Shad Turner and built by the W.D. Schock Corporation to the highest standards of quality. This is a beautiful boat with sleek lines and well balanced dimensions unique for a 25 foot boat. Fixed keel, easy to sail, goes well in very little wind and handles like a big dinghy. Sleeps four with limited accommodations. She looks great on the water and will perform fantastic at the Wednesday night beer can races or she is docile enough to take the family out on a weekend cruise.

This boat is in very good condition.

Countless hours spent on sanding and filling the hull to give it a perfect, smooth as glass finish before the new Navy paint and white antifouling bottom applied. All hardware above and below deck was re-bedded (very dry boat!). The interior has been stripped of all peeling paint and completely repainted. The deck is clean with a few stress cracks in the Gel coat, pretty average for a boat of this vintage. The bow pulpit is bent where the previous owner and an altercation with another during a Wednesday night beer can race. WD Shock still has bow pulpits for 175 but its only cosmetic and I just haven't got around to it yet. The interior cushions are original to the boat and should be replaced

The mast was re-rigged with color coded lines and new color coded cam locks to help teach the girls to sail

The Gamefisher out board was reported to have never been started. I removed the float bowl and it look like there has never been any fuel in the carb! I've put about 3 hours on it since I've owned it. The sails are original to the boat and in "Good" condition

Tandem trailer included. I bought the boat in Portland Oregon and towed it down to Los Angeles with a V6 Ranger (It can be done but would recommend something a little larger). I will offer new tires depending on the final selling price.
