I met Pete, the owner of this Sovereign 17, at the Dove boat ramp on Lake Grapevine. The lake was full, the ramp kinda shallow, but he was able to launch this shoal keel boat without problems. They spent the night on the boat and had a good time. Lake Grapevine seems to be a good place to anchor for the night. I saw a Catalina spend the night in the cove at Silver Lake Campground the two nights I was there.

reports are that the Sovereign 17 is "a bit slow" but a very seaworthy boat with a large cabin for a 17.
