1976 International Star Class Sailboat

  • The Star is one of the most prolific keelboats in the world for a reason: it is an incredible boat to sail. Designed in 1911, it has proven to be a classic in every sense. It is the oldest Olympic class. First used in competition in 1932. Supported by a worldwide association the Star as a class is one of the best organized in sailing, with over 7,500 yachts built and 2000-plus actively racing today.
  • This is arguably the closest you will come to an America's Cup racing yacht without having to spend magabucks!
  • She is a joy to sail in places where it is plagued with light air sailing conditions!
  • LOA 6.9 M, 22.7'
  • Beam 1.7 M, 5.7'
  • Draft 1.0 M, 3.3'
  • Weight 671 KG, 1479 Lbs
  • Sail Area 26.5 Sq. M, 285 Sq. Ft.
  • she has been refitted with a newer up-wind keel to make her more competitive or just plain faster for daysailing. These yachts point very high when sailing close hauled! This hull is also better than average down-wind.
  • Loads of Star Class bells and whistle for you to be as technical in your sailing as you like! Has a beautiful Suunto compass, anchor, lotsa line and a few other extras.
  • The hull, deck, standing and running rigging are all in good shape. I would replace about 8 small bolts, which have some rust. You'll also do fine without any replacement.
  • Comes cradled on a custom built trailer, which has very good tires, brand new leaf springs, and like new lights. She also comes with all the hardware that's needed to hoist her off the trailer.
  • Two sets of sails; one set is in excellent condition and the second is quite usable in good condition with a few Do-it-Your-Self repairs.
  • She has been dry sailed consistently for at least the last 4 years and it looks as though it needs nothing this year. Some of the pictures are not the exact boat but there is no obseravable difference.
