1985 Tartan Pride 270
Britt Chance design and one of eighteen built. This is a very fast MORC type race boat and a blast to sail.
Keel stepped mast measures 45'(think J29 rig on a J27).
All running and standing rigging in good shape.
Comes with 95% and 135% Quantum Kevlar head sails which run on a Tuff Luff twin groove foil. Both sails have seen very little use and are stored at home after every use in their bags.
Main is Dacron with full battens and is in good condition.
Also includes a 3/4 ounce spinnaker with all rigging to fly it and a couple of other mylar cruising sails.
We have no problem making this boat go fast with the current sail inventory, we have only lost one race since putting the boat in the water this spring. I purchased this boat on a whim and it really is too much boat for where we sail, our lake is just too small. There are still some things to tinker with I am sure, but she is in the water right now and sailing.
This is a great boat for someone wanting a really fast great sailing boat for little money.
I built a brand new trailer for it, but will sell for less without trailer.
Please feel free to ask me any questions as I will try answer them as fast as possible. More photos available on request.
The boat sold yesterday. Very sorry to see it go. Feel free to add it to your phot library, it was a really cool boat. Thanks again, keep up the great work on your site!
