1973 Texas Tornado
I found this boat after it had been stored in a barn for 20 years. The hull is in nearly new condition. I got it as a project boat because it was too pretty to pass up. I'm finding I don't have time for this project so I'm just trying to get my money back.
From talking with other sailors that have sailed a Tornado, it's a fast, lively two handed racer.
The sails are missing but I have the sail plans from the maker. Also the rudder has been lost.
I put brand new tires and bearing buddys on the trailer, a Dilly tilt trailer in excellent condition. Title and registration for Boat and Trailer have been brought up to date.
Length Over All 16'5"
Waterline Length 15'7"
Beam 5'7"
Sail Area - Main and Jib 160 sq ft.
Mast Height 22'
Boom Length 11'6"
Rigged for trapeze.
Spinnaker Chute built into bow.
David,
This morning I sold my '73 Texas Tornado posted on 12/6/04 to a man from Dallas. I really enjoy checking your website every day, especially now that I'm in the market for a small 18-22' cruiser.
Thanks for all the work you do on this website.
