Hull #14

Built by the famous Pearson Corporation of Bristol, Rhode Island. 173 were produced from 1959-1963. Sadly, I don't get to sail much anymore. She sails fast, and is ready to hit the water. I'm the second owner, hull #14. Original invoice, 27-page owners manual, and copies of the "Tiger-Tails" official association publication, are included.

HISTORY: Tigercat was the Winner of Yachting's 1959 One-of-a-Kind Regatta in Biscayne Bay (hull #1). In 1961 Tiger Cats won 6 out of seven "open" regattas in which they participated. At the National Championship, twenty-five Tiger Cats took part, making by far the largest group of one-design catamarans up to that time ever to cross a single starting line in the United States. [There's a picture of this in one of my books] Tiger cat was the first American catamaran association in the United States. Designed by Navel architect Robert B. Harris, this design was center stage in launching the catamaran revolution of the 1960's. Included are 4 hardcover books documenting this history, including "Modern Sailing Catamarans" by Robert B. Harris himself, 1960 describing many interesting details of Tiger cat's design and success. Many black and white pictures of Tiger cats are included in these four volumes.
