The 1997 Viper 640 was the 1997 Sailing World Boat of the Year Performance One-Design and Overall Winner.

The boat is very fast but stable. The hardware and sails are in good shape and the boat shows typical knicks of a five-year-old boat.

If you want a fast daysailer that is also fun to sail, this could be the perfect boat. The 185 pound bulb keel makes it very hard to capsize, you may not be able to. How fast is the Viper 640? Well, it's Portsmouth handicap is 70.7, compare that to a J24's rating of 80.9, or a Flying Scot's rating of 90.0. This is not a fast boat, this is a FAST BOAT!
